Story: Mr. Big was just recently adopted at age ten through Animals 1st, a wonderful non-profit horse and Great Dane rescue group, based in Texas. Big’s new Mom found him on PetFinders.com by searching for “extra large seniors,” Big believes all doors should be open, and noses them widely open when walking past. His parents were gone during a recent thunderstorm, and the doors to all of his hiding places were shut. One hour, and two mangled, brass doorknobs later, he was found hiding in a closet, waiting for help. Big loves to play pack horse and help with household chores. He patiently waits as up to ten bath towels are stacked on his back and then he safely hauls them to the laundry room. He is also the official “policeman” for a house full of Golden Retrievers. Mr. Big likes to bark as if to say, “Settle down you wild things!” to the younger dogs as they play.
